Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Production Leader to join our team. The leader is responsible for leading the activities of plant employees to maintain safety, quality, and efficient production. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, problem-solving, addressing complaints and resolving problems, documenting, and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude, and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure plan employees work safely by following all safety processes and policies. Responsible for meeting all safety, production processes, policies, standards, and quality expectations. 
  • Serve as a member of the plant leadership team and a role model for employees regarding on-the-job behavior, integrity, fairness, and positive work attitudes. 
  • Maintain smooth, continuous, efficient operation, assisting the team in any function/role. 
  • Maintain a teamwork atmosphere for all employees. 
  • Execute daily objectives established by management by directing production employees and monitoring the progress of assigned tasks. 
  • Ensure consistent quality and count inspection of a product, which includes identifying and segregating nonconforming (reject/scrap) product and materials, and documenting and reporting all quality assurance checks as instructed. Provide operators with approval to produce. 
  • Provide operators with feedback and assist with troubleshooting to make necessary adjustments to ensure safety and quality. 
  • Lead plant safety meetings designed to improve a safe working environment. 
  • Assign daily production duties and goals to plan personnel. 
  • Ensure daily reports are accurately completed and submitted as required. 
  • Ensure units are inspected and monitored for any quality and integrity issues. 
  • Ensure that railer unloading meets quality and accuracy requirements. 
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping activities to ensure a safe, clean production floor. 
  • Coordinate all activities for the assigned shift, including employees’ understanding of duties, shifting manpower needs, communicating time constraints, and completing supporting operational paperwork. 
  • Attend daily briefings with management to review the operation status. 
  • Maintain smooth, continuous, efficient operation, assisting the team in any function/role as needed. 
  • Communicate maintenance needs to management. 
  • Communicate any injuries, near-miss opportunities, or building damage immediately to management. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Willingness to learn, including cross-training and filling in other positions as needed. 
  • Ability to operate/monitor the following equipment: Baler, Conveyors, Loader, Forklift. 

We are looking for the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in a successful candidate: 

  • Authorized to work in the United States. 
  • Must be 21 years of age. 
  • High school degree or GED (or equivalent experience). 
  • Prior experience in the corrugated manufacturing industry. 
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Ability to use computers daily to communicate via email, enter date into company software and the MS Office Suite. 
  • Ability to handle complex tasks simultaneously and prioritize while meeting multiple deadlines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Takes pride in their work and working with a team. 
  • Ability to read a tape measure. 
  • Stable work history and good attendance record. 
  • Proven track record on safety, leading people, and quality. 
  • Solid mechanical aptitude. 
  • Attention to detail and a focus on producing a quality product. 
  • The ability to work with others in a team environment with minimal supervision. 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. 
  • Willingness to learn, including cross-training and filling other positions as needed. 
  • Professional attitude and good communication skills. 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least ten (10) hours a day.

  • Position may require overtime.
